A new theatre workshop platform.
Something is always on the stove.
About
The Writerly Kitchen is a theatre workshop platform founded by Filip Holacky, a Czech composer & writer based in Edinburgh, producing original work across film, theatre, and audio. We develop new writing through readings, workshops, and public performances. We treat new musical theatre with the craft, ambition, and rigour it deserves. This is a place where play is taken seriously.
Podcast Musical
3am. Two strangers at an international airport. Abandoned luggage. Audio as a weapon.
Tanya and Mark meet at the airport after their flights are cancelled and decide to start a private detective agency; a choice that leads them somewhere neither expected.
Told through hazy memories, interrogation tapes, airport camera angles, a dictaphone, and an article, The Puffy Coats is a story that never quite agrees with itself. Everyone is narrating but not everyone is reliable — scenes are missing and the recordings that survive have been edited by someone with an interest.
What you take from it is up to you.
